New at Mour: A Pre-Theatre Menu from £30…

Mour, the Mediterranean restaurant and martini bar that recently opened in Marylebone, has launched a pre-theatre menu: two courses for £30 or three for £36, served daily from 4.30pm to 6pm. It's a few minutes from The Arts at Marble Arch and a short walk from Oxford Street, which helps when the one rule of pre-theatre dining is being finished by curtain up.

Dinner starts with complimentary sourdough and whipped thyme brown butter, then a choice of burrata with seasonal tomatoes, graffiti aubergine babaganoush or beef carpaccio. Mains are beef ragu pappardelle, flamed cauliflower with coriander pistou, chicken alla diavola or a seasonal mushroom risotto. To finish, there's an "almost classic" tiramisu, a dark chocolate namelaka or an affogato with homemade vanilla ice cream.

Drinks are priced to make a second round feel reasonable: a glass of house wine is £6 and any martini is £12. Do the sums and two courses with a martini, or three courses with a glass of house wine, both come to £42.

Mour says the pre-theatre menu follows the same approach as its à la carte: seasonal ingredients and simple cooking. The setting has the character of a Georgian townhouse, with an intimate main restaurant and a covered, heated courtyard for anyone who prefers to eat outside.

We haven't been yet, but we're visiting at the end of the month and will report back. In the meantime, if you try it before we do, tell us how it goes.
